About Basingstoke Breast Cancer Self Help Group
How can the group help me?
If you have been diagnosed with breast cancer, you may find it helpful to talk to others who have been, or are in, a similar situation.
Basingstoke Breast Cancer Self Help Group was established in 2003. We provide friendship and support to women who have had breast cancer.
Meetings
We meet as a group from 6pm to 8pm one Tuesday a month at the Ark Conference Centre, which is situated at the back of Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital.
Our monthly meetings include informal discussions, as well as listening to talks from guest speakers on relevant topics to our members. Further details can be found on the News and Events section of this website.
Support
We appreciate that not all women will feel comfortable attending meetings initially. Just knowing that the group exists and that we are only a phone call away may be enough.
Alternatively, we are happy to meet with you individually.
Social events and fundraising
Members are invited to social outings throughout the year.
As we do not receive any grants for our activities, we organise fundraising events, such as concerts, quiz nights and cake sales. These are a great opportunity to have some fun and involve family, friends and colleagues.
